John is the founder of John L. Mottram CPA, LLC. He has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, including more than 25 years in senior levels at international corporate finance organizations. He has spent the last 12 years building his own CPA practice in Dallas, Texas, and has recently expanded into wealth management services at his firm. He holds his BA in Accounting from the University of Aston, his BSC in Accounting and Finance from the University of Edinburgh, and his MBA in Finance from Heriot-Watt University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Account (AICPA) and a Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA)
In his role at the firm, he focuses on helping his clients with a wide range of services with the ultimate goal to build and protect their wealth through tax-advantaged wealth management strategies. He helps them make better financial decisions for themselves and their businesses, save money in taxes, and understand the markets and the investment products available to them. His extensive corporate finance experience working in international markets gives him extensive knowledge that he shares with clients. He specializes in tax strategies, tax filings, and business advisory services under an umbrella of tax-effective wealth management.
Outside of the office, John enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He has also been passionate about cars from an early age. He has a large auto book collection and enjoys photographing and drawing cars, attending auto races and events, and researching automotive history. John has a long history of rebuilding his 30-year-old Jaguar Sports Coupe.
